Position: Senior Operator – Mainframe
Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
Contract: 12 months + Extendable

Key Responsibilities:

System Monitoring:

Monitor mainframe systems for performance, errors, and irregularities.
Respond to system alerts and take corrective actions to resolve issues promptly.
Batch Processing:

Manage and execute batch processing jobs.
Monitor and optimize job scheduling to ensure efficient use of system resources.
Incident Management:

Respond to incidents, outages, and service disruptions in a timely manner.
Collaborate with other IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
Backup and Recovery:

Implement and manage backup and recovery procedures for mainframe systems.
Conduct regular tests to ensure data integrity and system recoverability.
Security Compliance:

Enforce security policies and procedures to safeguard mainframe systems and data.
Collaborate with security teams to address vulnerabilities and ensure compliance.
Performance Tuning:

Identify opportunities for performance improvement and implement tuning measures.
Work closely with system architects to optimize mainframe configurations.
Documentation:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for mainframe procedures and configurations.
Train junior operators and support staff on operational processes.
Capacity Planning:

Analyze system usage trends and participate in capacity planning activities.
Make recommendations for hardware and software upgrades as needed.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience as a Mainframe Operator with expertise in operating and maintaining mainframe systems.
Knowledge of mainframe operating systems (e.g., z/OS), JCL (Job Control Language), and utilities.
Familiarity with backup and recovery procedures and security best practices.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
