On behalf of one of our robotics R&D partners, we are seeking an experienced QA Manager to lead quality assurance activities for next-generation robotic systems across multiple international sites.
Role Overview
The QA Manager will own and drive the overall testing and quality strategy for complex robotic systems within a fast-paced R&D environment. This role combines technical depth, people leadership, and strategic oversight, managing a distributed team of test technicians across Europe and North America.
You will work closely with engineering, development, and programme stakeholders to ensure testing activities are aligned with development goals, quality standards, and delivery timelines.
Key Responsibilities
Define, develop, and execute comprehensive testing strategies for advanced robotic systems
Lead, manage, and mentor a distributed team of approximately 10 test technicians across EU and NA locations
Own test documentation, procedures, quality metrics, and reporting standards
Coordinate testing schedules, resources, and priorities across multiple facilities and time zones
Track, analyse, and report system KPIs, team performance metrics, and quality improvement initiatives
Partner closely with engineering and development teams to ensure test coverage aligns with system requirements and roadmaps
Oversee test infrastructure, tooling, and environments across multiple sites
Drive continuous improvement in QA processes, methodologies, and automation practices
Act as a key quality advocate within the wider programme, influencing stakeholders and decision-making
Required Technical Skills
Strong proficiency with Linux systems and scripting
Hands-on experience with ROS (Robot Operating System)
Familiarity with Git, Codesys, and Carbon-based development environments
Understanding of test automation frameworks and approaches
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, test infrastructure, and integration practices
Required Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related technical discipline
5+ years’ experience in QA/testing of complex technical or robotic systems
3+ years’ experience managing or leading technical teams
Proven experience developing and executing test strategies in R&D or engineering-led environments
Strong documentation, reporting, and technical writing capabilities
Experience working within Agile development environments and using project management tools

Additional Requirements
Willingness to travel up to 50% of working time
Fluent in English (German language skills preferred)
Proven experience working within international, multi-site teams
