About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Offshore Purview Lead to take ownership of day-to-day Microsoft Purview operations within a large-scale Azure/Fabric transformation program. This is a tactical, hands-on execution role supporting an Azure/Fabric rebuild where Purview serves as the unified governance backbone. You will work closely with the Onshore Governance Lead (strategy and client steering) and collaborate across Data Engineering, BI, AI, and CI/CD squads to operationalize governance standards at scale. This role requires strong technical execution capability, structured governance thinking, and the ability to embed compliance controls directly into delivery workflows.

Key Responsibilities

Purview Administration & Governance Execution
– Administer Purview collections, RBAC, scans, classifications, sensitivity labels, retention, and masking rules
– Own metadata standards enforcement and governance RACI implementation
-Maintain glossary terms, ownership models, and approval workflows
– Validate metadata completeness across datasets, pipelines, and Power BI assets

Lineage & Metadata Operations
– Configure and validate end-to-end lineage from source → pipelines → Lakehouse → Power BI
– Identify lineage gaps and coordinate remediation with engineering teams
– Ensure Bronze → Silver → Gold data pipelines adhere to governance patterns
– Validate Fabric/Synapse lineage push and completeness

Governance Integration into Delivery
– Integrate governance gates into CI/CD pipelines, including:
– Metadata validation
– Lineage readiness checks
– Classification and access control validation
– Execute pre-wave readiness checks (RBAC, scans, glossary approvals, lineage smoke tests)

Data Quality & Operational Governance
– Operate the Data Quality issue lifecycle (triage → remediation → validation)
– Maintain and publish Data Quality dashboards
– Produce weekly governance status reporting covering:
– Lineage completeness
– Glossary coverage
– Metadata compliance
– DQ performance metrics

Documentation & Enablement
– Develop and maintain SOPs, runbooks, onboarding guides, and governance playbooks
– Support knowledge transfer to RUN and support teams
– Create governance compliance checklists and wave readiness documentation

Required Skills & Experience
– Proven hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview (catalog, scans, lineage, classification, access control)
– Strong metadata literacy and understanding of:
– Data models
– Data pipelines
– Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse architecture
– Solid knowledge of Azure security (RBAC, Managed Identities, Key Vault)
– Experience working across Data Engineering, BI, Governance, AI, and DevOps teams
– Strong documentation skills and disciplined execution approach
– Ability to operate in structured governance environments with delivery accountability
