IT Asset Manager

Role Summary
The IT Asset Management Specialist is responsible for managing the lifecycle of IT assets across the organization, ensuring accurate tracking, compliance, and optimization of hardware and software resources. The role focuses on maintaining asset visibility, controlling costs, and supporting efficient IT operations.

Role and Responsibilities
• Manage the full lifecycle of IT assets including procurement, deployment, maintenance, and disposal
• Maintain accurate asset inventory records for hardware, software, and licenses within CMDB systems
• Track asset usage, ownership, and allocation across the organization
• Ensure compliance with software licensing agreements and organizational policies
• Conduct regular audits and reconciliations of IT assets and CMDB data
• Collaborate with procurement and finance teams for asset acquisition and budgeting
• Utilize ServiceNow (or similar platforms) to manage asset records, workflows, and reporting
• Support incident, change, and configuration management processes
• Identify opportunities to optimize asset utilization and reduce costs
• Generate reports on asset status, usage, and lifecycle metrics

Skills and Experience
• Proven experience in IT Asset Management, IT Operations, or related roles
• Strong experience working with CMDB systems and maintaining accurate configuration data
• Hands-on experience with ServiceNow ITSM / ITAM modules
• Strong understanding of asset lifecycle management and inventory control processes
• Knowledge of software licensing models and compliance requirements
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and best practices
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Relevant certifications are an advantage
