Role Overview:
Network Engineer will provide advanced technical leadership and support across enterprise network environments. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and governing complex network solutions, with a strong focus on Aruba-based infrastructure, including datacentre EVPN environments.
The engineer will act as a key escalation point, ensuring high standards in network design, change execution, and operational stability across both campus and data centre networks.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
Aruba CX Networking (L2 & L3)
Implementation and advanced troubleshooting
Spanning Tree Protocol (STP)
OSPF routing
Switching & Stacking Technologies
VSF (Virtual Switching Framework)
VSX (Virtual Switching Extension)
Core Networking Concepts
Strong understanding of IPv4 subnetting
VLAN segmentation and design principles
Aruba ClearPass
802.1X service profiles
Integration with Aruba CX 6300 edge switches
Dynamic segmentation
Deployment of colourless ports
Wireless Networking
Aruba WLAN (AOS8) deployments and troubleshooting
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Architecture
Attend and contribute to IT infrastructure design meetings
Support onboarding of new services and devices (wired and wireless)
Own and govern Aruba CX EVPN data centre infrastructure
Design network solutions across:
Core and aggregation layers
Campus networks
Data centre EVPN environments
Implementation & Change Management
Implement complex network changes beyond junior/L3 scope
Plan and deploy configurations for new services in:
Data centre EVPN environments
Campus wired and WLAN networks
Ensure all changes are executed in a controlled, structured manner
Documentation & Governance
Produce detailed network documentation for:
Design changes
New services
Issue resolution
Provide clear technical guidance and implementation plans to L3 engineers
Maintain high standards of documentation and change control
Leadership & Escalation
Act as primary technical escalation point for L3 Network Engineers
Provide mentorship and technical oversight to wider network team
Ensure consistency and quality across all network engineering activities
Operations & Optimisation
Plan and execute software upgrades across data centre infrastructure
Troubleshoot complex network issues within data centre environments
Ensure performance, scalability, and resilience of network services
