Junior Network Engineer

Location: Customer Site – Dublin, Ireland
Duration: 6–12 months
Engagement Type: Contract (5 days per week)

Role Overview

Junior Network Engineer will provide technical support to wider Technology teams, ensuring smooth day-to-day network operations. The role focuses on supporting enterprise Aruba-based network environments, including both wired and wireless infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on ClearPass-driven access control and segmentation.

Mandatory Technical Skills

Aruba CX Networking (L2 & L3)
Implementation and troubleshooting
Spanning Tree Protocol (STP)
OSPF routing

Switching & Stacking Technologies
VSF (Virtual Switching Framework)
VSX (Virtual Switching Extension)

Core Networking Concepts
Strong understanding of IPv4 subnetting
VLAN segmentation and design principles

Aruba ClearPass
802.1X service profiles
Integration with Aruba CX 6300 edge switches
Dynamic segmentation
Deployment of colourless ports

Wireless Networking
Aruba WLAN (AOS8) deployments
Troubleshooting wireless environments

Key Responsibilities
Network Onboarding & Configuration
Assist with onboarding of new clients via ClearPass (wired and wireless)
Domain PCs, IoT devices, and medical devices
Support expansion and configuration of Aruba access points
Configure VLANs and IP subnets as directed by Network Design Authority

Troubleshooting & Support
Diagnose and resolve wired and wireless connectivity issues
Support IT teams with onboarding of complex devices (e.g. medical/IoT)
Troubleshoot general network issues across LAN and WLAN environments

Operations & Maintenance
Perform day-to-day network operational tasks, including:
Device backups
Monitoring via IMC (Intelligent Management Center)
Network health checks
Replace faulty hardware (e.g. Aruba CX 6300 VSF switch stacks)

Upgrades & Improvements
Plan and implement software upgrades for:
Aruba AOS8 WLAN infrastructure
Wired network environment
