Project Scope: Large-scale offshore wind infrastructure in German waters

Engagement: Long-term, international project environment

The Role

As a Senior Expert in Certification Management, you will lead the strategic and operational compliance framework for a major offshore wind infrastructure project. You will ensure that all technical and legal requirements—specifically those mandated by the German Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH)—are met across the entire project lifecycle, from initial design through to final commissioning.

Your Responsibilities

Strategic Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive project certification strategies across all phases (Design, Fabrication, Installation, and Commissioning).
Audit Management: Plan, coordinate, and execute internal and external audits and tests (e.g., ISO standards). Prepare, organise, and provide hands-on support during certification inspections.
Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the primary interface between the project and independent certification bodies, German authorities, and internal technical teams.
Compliance Oversight: Ensure strict adherence to applicable international standards (e.g., IEC, ISO), the BSH Standard Design, and specific regulatory certification requirements.
Documentation & Evidence: Maintain and manage the centralized “Verification Trail,” ensuring all certification-related documentation and evidence are audit-ready.
Continuous Improvement: Analyse audit results to define and track the implementation of improvement measures. Proactively manage and resolve non-conformities.
Cross-Functional Alignment: Drive synergy between Engineering, HSE, Commercial, and Project Management teams to ensure certification remains a core driver of project success.

Your Profile

Experience: Proven track record in certification management within the offshore wind sector or similarly complex large-scale infrastructure projects.
Regulatory Expertise: Strong understanding of international standards and regulatory frameworks, with specific experience navigating German offshore requirements (BSH).
Authority Liaison: Demonstrated success in working directly with certification bodies (e.g., DNV, TÜV, SGS) and government authorities.
Technical Background: Degree in Engineering, HSE, or a related technical discipline.
Audit Proficiency: Deep experience in managing formal audits, inspections, and complex compliance processes.
Communication: Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to bridge the gap between technical and commercial interests.
Language: Fluent English (C1+ level); German language skills are a significant advantage for managing local regulatory documentation.

Project Setup

Base: Berlin-based with a flexible hybrid setup.
Travel: Willingness to travel to manufacturing sites, ports, or offshore locations as required by the audit and inspection schedule.
Culture: A high-paced, international project environment offering a long-term engagement on a flagship energy transition project.
