Simulation & Avionics Systems Engineer | Freelance Contract | Friedrichshafen

We are looking for a Mid-to-Senior Level Simulation & Avionics Systems Engineer to join a leading aerospace engineering environment in Friedrichshafen, Germany.

Location: Friedrichshafen, Germany
Working model: 100% onsite
Contract: 6 months initially, with potential for extension
Type: Freelance / Contract
Level: Mid-to-Senior
Eligibility: EU nationals only

The Role
You will work on the development, implementation and testing of component models within an overall system simulation environment. You will contribute to the code base for model evaluation and analysis, perform structured software testing, and collaborate with technical experts on model validation and updates. The role will also involve system identification based on test data and supporting other technical teams with simulation models for activities such as flight control software verification and concept studies.

Must-Have
•3–7 years of relevant experience in the space/aerospace domain
•Proven experience working with complex aerospace or avionics systems
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
•Ability to work effectively in international, multidisciplinary teams
•Strong spoken and written English
•Proactive approach and willingness to continuously improve technical concepts, tools and methods

Nice to Have
•Good knowledge of Matlab/Simulink or comparable toolsuites
•Good knowledge of the SimTG Modeling Framework
•German language skills
•Experience with system simulation, modelling or model validation
•Experience working with test data and system identification
