Overview

Linnk is seeking an experienced Senior Procurement & Materials Manager to take ownership of material, inventory, and procurement activities across two engineering lab facilities in Berlin.

This is a hands-on role combining procurement, inventory management, material planning, and logistics within a fast-moving industrial environment. You will establish robust material management processes, ensure critical parts and equipment are accurately controlled, and coordinate domestic and international shipments.

As the function develops, you will also supervise and coordinate a small team of 1–3 junior buyers and material handlers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage inventory across two Berlin lab facilities, including spare parts, production materials, and deployment/retrofit equipment
• Develop and implement standardised material management, stock control, and procurement processes
• Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure materials are available when required by engineering and deployment teams
• Coordinate purchasing, material movements, and replenishment based on operational requirements
• Manage frequent international/offshore shipments, ensuring accurate documentation and tracking
• Establish processes for materials moving between lab facilities and external project locations
• Supervise and coordinate the activities of 1–3 junior buyers/material handlers as the team grows
• Drive inventory accuracy, traceability, organisation, and continuous improvement
• Oversee material storage and housekeeping standards across both lab environments
• Work closely with Engineering, Operations, Deployment, and external suppliers to resolve material and supply issues

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of procurement, materials management, inventory, or supply chain experience
• Background within automotive, manufacturing, automation, engineering, or a similar high-volume industrial environment
• Strong experience managing spare parts, production materials, or technical equipment inventories
• Experience developing and implementing material management and stock control processes
• Strong understanding of purchasing, inventory control, and material planning
• Experience coordinating international shipments and associated logistics
• Ability to supervise and develop junior team members
• Berlin-based with professional working proficiency in both German and English

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience supporting engineering labs, manufacturing facilities, or R&D environments
• Experience managing inventory across multiple facilities or storage locations
• Knowledge of ERP, MRP, WMS, or inventory management systems
• Experience with deployment, retrofit, or project-based material planning
• Exposure to robotics, automation, automotive, or advanced manufacturing environments
• Experience establishing new procurement or materials management processes from the ground up
