Role Overview
Our client, a global leader in automation and intralogistics, is seeking a Network Deployment Engineer to support the rollout and migration of machine and site networks to a new architectural framework.
This is not a specialist network engineer role. It is a hands-on deployment and transformation role requiring strong IT fundamentals, solid networking knowledge, excellent coordination skills, and the ability to operate confidently in fast-moving, field-based environments.

You will work closely with subject matter experts, site teams, vendors, and central IT to ensure network-related transformations are planned, executed, and stabilised with minimal operational disruption. The role suits individuals who can hit the ground running, communicate clearly, adapt quickly, and take ownership in live operational environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the planning, coordination, and execution of network and infrastructure transformations across multiple operational sites
• Execute on-site and remote deployment activities including installation, configuration, validation, cutover, and post-migration stabilisation
• Perform fundamental network tasks such as VLAN configuration, subnet validation, connectivity checks, and peripheral integration
• Act as the technical delivery point of contact during site activities, coordinating stakeholders and driving issues through to resolution
• Support pre- and post-migration testing to confirm performance, reliability, and security standards are met
• Respond to time-sensitive deployment needs, including short-notice travel and schedule changes driven by operational requirements
• Coordinate closely with program managers, vendors, IT teams, and site operations to manage dependencies and adapt to real-time changes
• Provide clear site-level communication, including progress updates, risks, blockers, and escalation where required
• Produce and maintain clear deployment documentation including migration plans, validation checklists, change records, and post-deployment reports
• Support knowledge transfer and basic training for internal teams following site deployments
• Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying gaps in deployment processes and recommending practical enhancements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related technical field.

Required Experience & Skills

• Strong foundational IT and networking knowledge, including:
o VLANs and subnetting
o Basic routing and switching concepts
o Structured troubleshooting
• Background in IT systems engineering, infrastructure support, or technical project delivery
• Experience supporting on-site deployments or infrastructure changes in live operational environments
• Proven ability to operate in dynamic environments with shifting priorities
• Excellent communication skills – able to clearly explain experience, decisions, and issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong organisational and coordination skills (project-oriented mindset)

Nice to have:
• Exposure to Linux-based systems and general IT troubleshooting
• Understanding of AWS or cloud-based environments (foundational level)

Travel & Compliance Requirements

• Travel up to 80% is mandatory – candidates unwilling to travel should not apply
• Ability to travel on short notice for deployments ranging from days to several weeks
• Must hold valid work authorisation, visas, ESTA, and permits for all required regions prior to engagement

Desirable Certifications
• ITIL, PRINCE2, or similar project / service management certifications
• AWS certifications (foundational or associate level)
