Position: System Engineer – WebLogic Deployment

Overview:
Our client is currently working on a major rehosting initiative and are looking to appoint a highly skilled System Engineer. This role will be central to supporting the deployment and configuration of WebLogic applications within a newly established infrastructure environment at the client’s site.
The successful candidate will take ownership of ensuring the robust setup, administration, and performance optimisation of WebLogic servers, operating within a Red Hat Linux environment. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key part in a high-profile transformation project while working with cutting-edge technology in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Install, configure, and manage Oracle WebLogic (14c+) within large-scale enterprise settings.
• Support the transition and migration of applications to a refreshed client infrastructure platform.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts (KornShell) to streamline deployment and operational activities.
• Proactively monitor, diagnose, and fine-tune WebLogic server performance and availability.
• Partner with cross-functional teams including infrastructure, development, and networking to deliver stable solutions.
• Produce and update technical documentation covering environments, deployment procedures, and operational standards.
• Contribute to incident management and carry out root cause analysis for long-term stability.
Required Skills & Experience
• Demonstrated track record as a WebLogic Administrator or Systems Engineer within enterprise environments.
• In-depth experience managing and administering Oracle WebLogic 14c+ servers.
• Strong Linux administration skills (preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9+) with proven KornShell scripting expertise.
• Solid grasp of networking concepts including TCP/IP, firewalls, and load balancing.
• Strong troubleshooting ability across both application and infrastructure layers.
Desirable Skills
• Hands-on experience with configuration management or orchestration tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Terraform).
• Knowledge of CI/CD processes and tools to support application delivery.
• Previous exposure to hybrid or cloud-hosted infrastructure environments.
