Contractor Deployment Engineer – Automation & Robotics
13-Week Contract | Starting May 2026 | Potential Extension
We are seeking an experienced Deployment Engineer with a strong background in automation and robotics, ideally from the automotive or high-volume industrial sector, to support a 13-week deployment project starting in May 2026, with the possibility of extension.
This role requires strong hands-on technical capability, foundational knowledge of TIA Portal troubleshooting, along with proven experience leading deployment projects or teams and taking full ownership of delivery.
Key Responsibilities
– Validate on-site deployment, installation, and commissioning of automated and robotic systems.
– Perform PLC diagnostics and troubleshooting using Siemens TIA Portal (essential).
– Conduct system configuration validation, I/O checks, connectivity verification, and functional testing.
– Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during deployment and ramp-up.
– Lead on-site deployment activities and ensure performance and quality standards are achieved.
– Coordinate with Ops, RME, TPMs, and engineering teams to ensure site readiness.
– Ensure adherence to safety, compliance, and operational standards.
– Report progress, risks, and blockers proactively.
– Document installation steps, testing results, and lessons learned.
Essential Experience
– Strong background in automation and robotics, preferably in the automotive or similar industrial sector.
– Foundational Siemens TIA Portal troubleshooting capability (mandatory).
– Mechanical and/or Electrical engineering background (qualification or equivalent experience).
– Proven experience leading projects, technical teams, or deployment activities.
– Demonstrated ownership and accountability in delivery-focused environments.
– Experience supporting system commissioning, deployment, and ramp-up.
– Practical hands-on experience with PLC-controlled systems, I/O validation, and automation diagnostics.
– Ability to troubleshoot effectively in live operational environments.
Preferred Qualifications
– Direct experience in automotive manufacturing environments.
– Experience working cross-functionally with Operations, RME, TPMs, and Engineering teams.
– Knowledge of industrial networks and fieldbus systems (e.g., Profinet, Profibus, Ethernet/IP).
– Experience with robotic integration or automated material handling systems.
– Ability to speak one or more fluently: French, German, Spanish, or Polish.
– Experience contributing to deployment optimization or continuous improvement initiatives.
– Familiarity with industrial safety standards and compliance frameworks.
