AOCS/GNC Engineer | Freelance Contract | Friedrichshafen

We are looking for a Mid-to-Senior Level AOCS/GNC Engineer to join a leading aerospace engineering environment in Friedrichshafen, Germany.

Working model: 100% onsite
Contract: 6 months initially, with potential for extension
Type: Freelance / Contract

The Role
You will work on the design, development and verification of Attitude and Orbit Control Systems (AOCS) / Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) subsystems, including algorithms and software. You will perform AOCS/GNC analysis and simulation activities, develop analysis and simulation tools, and support satellite projects from development through to customer acceptance. The role will also involve contributing to proposals, system studies and technical documentation.

Must-Have
•3–7 years of relevant experience in the space/aerospace domain
•Proven experience working as an AOCS/GNC Engineer
•Good knowledge of control theory
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
•High motivation and proactive approach
•Ability to work effectively in international, multidisciplinary teams
•Strong spoken and written English
•Ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and stakeholders

Nice to Have
•Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or equivalent
•German language skills
•Experience with Matlab/Simulink or comparable toolsuites
•Experience across the satellite development lifecycle
