Owners Engineer

We are currently supporting a client in the renewable energy sector who is looking to engage an experienced Owner’s Engineer / Grid Advisory Specialist on a freelance, project basis.

This role will focus on providing high-level technical guidance across utility-scale solar projects, supporting both internal teams and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Act as Owner’s Engineer, advising on key technical decisions across project lifecycle
Review and analyse design documentation, BoQs, and technical reports
Identify optimisation opportunities and potential technical risks
Provide expert input on grid connection processes
Ensure compliance with:
Grid Codes
DNO/TSO technical requirements
Knowledge of European energy regulations (multi-country experience is highly valued)
Support technical due diligence activities, including risk assessments and performance evaluation
Benchmark technologies such as PV modules, inverters, and mounting structures
Requirements:

Proven experience in utility-scale solar projects
Strong background in grid compliance and regulatory frameworks
Experience acting as Owner’s Engineer or similar advisory role
Solid understanding of electrical systems and grid integration
Experience working across multiple countries is a strong advantage
Ability to work remotely and collaborate with international teams
Contract Details:

Freelance / contract-based engagement
Fully remote (candidate must be from and base in the EU)
