Linnk is seeking a Senior Construction Site Engineer to join our Mechanical Design Engineering team. This role will provide on-site support to a design engineering team for projects based in the Spain. Support the design engineering team with relevant design and construction activities. You’ll work closely with senior engineers and stakeholders across design, construction, and sustainability to help support design activities of new build data centres across Spain.

You will be responsible for working on multi-million dollar designs that support our array of businesses and wide variety of customers. Great ideas are encouraged and supported. If you can design a mechanical system, have an understanding of the critical equipment needs for a data centre, and understand the constructability of varying designs you may be a good fit.
This position is based on-site supporting multiple construction projects, with a fixed 5-day-per-week schedule. Office space, tools, computational resources and support will be fully provided during this time.________________________________________

What You’ll Do
• Be the main on site POC for design engineering
• Manage on-site Resident Engineers (RE’s) supporting construction activities
• Manage RE’s submittal reviews with respect to accuracy, quality and response time
• Review and approve equipment submittals where required
• Manage RE’s RFI (Request for Information) reviews with respect to accuracy, quality and response time
• Review and respond to RFIs where required
• Conduct site walks and inspections.
• Create, manage and drive to completion any Site Observations Reports (SOR’s)
• Create, manage and drive to completion any site Non-conformation Reports (NCR’s)
• Review design/ contractor drawings, contractor proposals and provide comments.
• Provide regular reports to the Design Engineering lead
• Travel will be required around the Zaragoza region to support construction activities.
• Travel will be required to/from HQ office in Dublin office when periodically
• Work with internal teams to trouble shoot problems and conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective Action (CA) for design related problems
• Participate in knowledge-sharing, learn Company specific standards
• Be positive and always offer creative, out of the box solutions

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering or related field
• 5+ years’ experience in HVAC. data centre cooling, electronics cooling, or building services
• Ability to research new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data centre equipment and facilities
• Have on-site experience conducting quality assurance reviews, design support, submittal reviews
• The ability to perform complex business case analysis to justify technical decisions and present the justification to management in a high level review
• Must be able to manage multiple workstreams concurrently in an ultra-fast paced environment.
• Must have a knowledge of electrical engineering systems in order to support on-site electrical Design engineer.
• Experience with building code and regulations for the region.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
• Chartered Engineer with Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Experience directly related to data centre or mission critical facility design such as Pharmaceutical, Hospital or Semi-Conductor projects. Understanding of BIM & CFD modelling
• Previous contractor negotiation and management skills associated with design, construction and project execution
• Experience with fast track design/build projects and or multiple significant upgrade projects
