Role Overview

Linnk Group is seeking a motivated Junior CAD Technician to support the production of detailed engineering layouts and technical drawings for large-scale infrastructure and industrial projects. Working alongside experienced Design Engineers and multidisciplinary project teams, you will assist in developing accurate CAD drawings, updating existing designs, and maintaining drawing standards throughout the project lifecycle.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 2–4 years of CAD drafting experience who is looking to develop their career within a fast-paced engineering environment. You’ll gain exposure to complex design projects while collaborating with engineers, architects, construction teams, and external suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

CAD Design & Drafting
– Produce detailed 2D CAD drawings and layouts based on engineering specifications and design standards.
– Translate engineering requirements into accurate technical drawings with a high level of attention to detail.
– Create and update floor plans, equipment layouts, elevations, and general arrangement drawings.
– Maintain drawing accuracy and ensure all revisions are completed in accordance with project requirements.

Design Coordination:
– Work closely with Design Engineers to understand project requirements and support the delivery of design packages.
– Collaborate with architects, construction teams, engineering disciplines, and external suppliers to resolve drawing queries.
– Review technical documentation, floor plans, structural drawings, and design mark-ups to support drawing development.
– Assist in incorporating design changes and engineering feedback throughout the project lifecycle.

Quality & Documentation
– Support internal quality assurance processes by participating in drawing reviews and implementing feedback.
– Ensure drawings comply with company CAD standards, templates, and documentation procedures.
– Maintain organised drawing files and revision records.
– Assist with updating standard templates, design libraries, and documentation.

Continuous Improvement
– Support the implementation of new drawing standards and CAD best practices.
– Contribute to process improvements that increase drawing quality and efficiency.
– Learn from senior engineers and CAD specialists to continuously develop technical capability.

Basic Qualifications
– 2–4 years’ experience as a CAD Technician, CAD Drafter, CAD Designer, or similar role.
– Proficiency using AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
– Experience producing detailed 2D engineering or architectural drawings.
– Good understanding of engineering drawings, layouts, and technical documentation.
– Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.
– Good communication skills and ability to work within multidisciplinary project teams.
– Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications
– Experience supporting engineering, construction, manufacturing, logistics, or infrastructure projects.
– Exposure to equipment layouts, facility designs, or industrial environments.
– Familiarity with Revit, Civil 3D, or other CAD platforms.
– Understanding of engineering drawing standards and revision control.
– Ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings.
