Our team is seeking broad, curious Electrical Engineers to join our diverse, full-stack team. In addition to holistically designing, building, and delivering end-to-end robotic systems, our team is responsible for the core infrastructure and tools that serve as the backbone of our robotic applications, enabling roboticists, hardware engineers, machine learning scientists, and software engineers to collaborate and deploy systems in the lab and in the field.
Key job responsibilities
• Design robust, high-quality, well-tested electrical equipment to interface with robots, control sensors, actuators, and other hardware.
• Work with stakeholders across hardware, science, and operations teams.
• Produce clear and concise documentation such as detailed design specifications, drawings, white papers, wiring schematics and diagrams, and reports.
• Development of strategic solutions, which meet or exceed our quality requirements and fall within our budgetary requirements. Capture requirements and turn thems into well-defined, achievable and testable specifications and solutions.
• Work with regional vendors and manufacturers to specify the appropriate electrical equipment.
• Maintain high standards by participating in reviews, designing for fault tolerance and operational excellence, and creating mechanisms for continuous improvement.
Basic qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in an electrical engineering and cumulative 5+ years of experience with industrial or commercial electrical design.
• Excellent understanding of applicable regional electrical code in Germany and EU.
• Good working knowledge of EPLAN.
• Experience with PLC-controlled automation and issue diagnosis in a continuous process or production environment.
• Experience with VFDs, safety gateways and input and output devices.
Preferred qualifications
• Ignition SCADA or similar platform and Human Machine Interface (HMI)
• EthernetIP, Profinet, Profibus and AS-i or other fieldbus networks
• Ladder Logic and structure programming from Codesys, Siemens, or Allen-Brady PLCs
• Experience supporting different conveyors and sortation systems
• Relevant experience dealing with material handling, flow and capacity visualisation, and monitoring
• Experience working within ISO 13849 and ISO 62061 frameworks
• Project management experience with multiple frameworks such as Agile and Waterfall
• Experience of Six Sigma, data analysis or process improvement techniques
