Role Summary
The ServiceNow CMDB Specialist is responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) within the ServiceNow platform. The role focuses on ensuring data accuracy, establishing relationships between configuration items, and supporting IT operations and decision-making through reliable configuration data.

Role and Responsibilities
• Manage and maintain the ServiceNow CMDB, ensuring data accuracy and completeness
• Define and govern CMDB data models, classes, and relationships
• Implement and manage discovery tools and data population processes
• Perform regular audits, reconciliations, and data quality checks
• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure accurate configuration item (CI) lifecycle management
• Support integration of CMDB with other systems and data sources
• Establish and enforce CMDB governance, policies, and best practices
• Support incident, problem, and change management processes using CMDB data
• Identify and implement improvements to enhance CMDB data quality and usability
• Provide reporting and insights based on CMDB data

Skills and Experience
• Proven experience working with ServiceNow CMDB in enterprise environments
• Strong understanding of CMDB architecture, data models, and CI relationships
• Experience with ServiceNow Discovery, Service Mapping, and integrations
• Knowledge of ITIL processes, particularly configuration management
• Experience in data governance, data quality, and reconciliation processes
• Familiarity with scripting (JavaScript/Glide) is an advantage
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
• ServiceNow certifications (CSA, CIS-CMDB) are an advantage
