Job Title: Technical Vendor Manager (TVM)

Our client, a global leader in logistics, fulfilment, and automation technology, is seeking an experienced and business-oriented Technical Vendor Manager (TVM) to support the continued expansion of its Mexico fulfilment network. This role will focus on end-to-end vendor development, engagement, and delivery management across Material Handling Equipment (MHE) supply chains within large-scale distribution and warehouse environments.
The successful candidate will bring a strong engineering or science background combined with extensive project, program, or portfolio management experience. You will work closely with equipment suppliers, procurement, engineering, and project delivery teams to ensure high-quality CAPEX project execution—delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead end-to-end technical vendor management for large-scale MHE and automation projects
• Manage vendor development strategies to ensure suppliers continue to meet operational and delivery demands
• Drive project execution by coordinating closely with Engineering, Procurement, and Project Delivery teams
• Own and manage equipment delivery schedules to site across multiple projects
• Lead technical program reviews, driving schedule acceleration, cost savings, and standardisation initiatives
• Evaluate and improve existing working procedures, processes, and team structures
• Deep dive into technical project details and lead issue resolution when required
• Monitor critical path activities and escalate risks, delays, and concerns to leadership teams
• Communicate project status updates and support key decision-making processes across stakeholders
• Coordinate information flow between internal departments and external vendors
• Support procurement teams with equipment forecasting, supplier engagement, and value optimisation
• Develop and implement process optimisation initiatives across internal and external teams
• Build strong working relationships with suppliers and stakeholders at all organisational levels
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and aligned with operational objectives
• Travel across project locations within Mexico as required (up to 50%)
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field
• Strong experience in Engineering Project Management, Program Management, or Vendor Management environments
• Background working within logistics, fulfilment, warehouse automation, or MHE environments
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and MS Project
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional coordination experience
• Ability to communicate fluently in both English and Spanish
• Experience managing large-scale CAPEX projects and vendor relationships
• Ability to work in fast-paced, high-growth operational environments
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills with the ability to drive decisions using metrics and reporting
• Experience driving process improvements and operational optimisation initiatives
• Strong business acumen with the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple levels
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Experience working in startup operations and/or multi-vendor collaboration environments
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver projects to tight deadlines
• Knowledge or practical experience with Lean methodologies such as Kaizen or Six Sigma
• Experience in automation, robotics, or material handling systems within fulfilment or distribution centres
HIRING MANAGER QUALIFICATION:
* Locations: Toluca and Guadalajara, Mexico (a plus if located in one of these cities)
* Travel: up to 50% travel between both sites
* Need Reason: backfill for a team member already transitioned
* Possible renewal: dependent on project volume (reviewed in October-November timeframe)
* Technical Skills:
– end to end project execution experience in logistics (preferred) or automotive/similar industries
– basic knowledge of conveyor installation, mechanical/electrical work, and commissioning
– project management fundamentals (Prince 2 or similar)
– fluent in English and Spanish
