• Develop 3D models for packaging, inserts, and fixtures using SolidWorks
• Build, assemble, and fit-check physical prototypes within the lab
• Conduct industry-standard package testing including drop, compression, vibration, and impact testing
• Apply ISTA, ASTM, or equivalent testing standards to validate packaging performance
• Analyse test results and translate findings into rapid design improvements
• Support material and substrate selection, including corrugated board, foams, void fill, and protective materials
• Respond to short-turnaround design and prototyping requests from engineering and operations teams
• Document designs, test results, and revisions clearly and accurately

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Science, Packaging Engineering, Packaging Technology, or a closely related discipline

• Working knowledge of SolidWorks
• Hands-on experience building, cutting, forming, assembling, and fit-checking packaging samples
• Familiarity with ISTA, ASTM, or equivalent package testing standards through study, internship, or industry experience
• Comfortable working in a lab environment and handling packaging materials safely
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and communication skills
• Able to work on-site five days per week in Hamme, Belgium

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Master’s degree in Packaging Science or a related discipline
• Experience with Adobe Illustrator for artwork and dieline presentation
• Exposure to corrugated conversion, flexographic printing, or digital print processes
• Experience with sustainable packaging initiatives such as fibre reduction, recyclability, or replacement of plastic components
• Exposure to robotics, automation, manufacturing, or other high-volume industrial environments
• Experience working on packaging solutions intended for large-scale production or deployment

KEY ATTRIBUTES
• Hands-On and Practical
