Roles and Responsibilities
Specific Role Requirements:
• Design and prepare Engineering drawings as per project requirement) for up to 400/380kV Substations.
• Design/Review the Substation automation system
• Review BOQ and Network drawings of substation secondary equipment’s and need to interface between CRP & SAS with Telecom Equipment.
• Review equipment drawings of major Substation Equipment for AIS / GIS like Circuit breakers, Isolators, Earth switches, CSD, PDM, Transformers/Reactors & associated Conditional Monitoring Devices etc.,
• Perform CT and VT and its sizing calculations.
• Design and Review the control/Power cable engineering in substations.
• Design the LV/LT auxiliary systems for Electrical Substations and interface with the SAS/SCADA.
• Perform/review the protection relay application / setting calculations and coordination including tripping analysis.
• Perform/Review the study on Electrical Power systems and load flow and short circuit studies etc.,
• Competency on specialized tools like CANECO, ETAP, DIG Silent or equivalent
• Working experience in SAS, Database Preparation in the automation/RTU software
• Review / consolidate the IO Mapping with respect to the scheme drawings/troubleshoot of database issues in SAS system / RTU based system.
• Able to work with different make IEDs, Numerical protection relays and BCUs.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• Approval from Saudi council of engineers
• Iqama holder from Saudi Arabia
• 8 + years of experience in substation protection relay systems within EHV Electrical Substations, Oil & Gas or Power Transmission industries.
• Experience in EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) environments with multidisciplinary teams and working with SEC for 380kV projects
• Experience of Secondary(CRP/SAS, Aux Systems, Telecom, Interface) engineering up to 380kV BSP’s and HVDC Substations

• Fluent in English; additional language (any foreign Language) is a plus.
• Willingness to travel internationally as required.
• Proven technical leadership in a complex system engineering development environment.
• Proactively serves on cross functional leadership teams; self-directed decision-making; Pulls in experts when needed.
• Ability travel and work in Jeddah /Riyadh /Dammam/Abha
Key Competences
• Technical Expertise: In-depth understanding of substation protection systems, relay technologies, relay tripping philosophies, substation automation systems, Interface Engineering, LV Auxiliary Systems & Telecom Panels.
