Overview

Linnk is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer / Draftsman to support the development of advanced robotics and mechatronics technologies within a fast-paced engineering environment.

This role will focus on the development of 3D mechanical designs, 2D technical drawings, and supporting engineering analysis, taking concepts from early-stage prototypes through to production-ready solutions. Working alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will contribute to the design of mechanical assemblies, electronics integration, tooling, and robotic systems.

The ideal candidate combines strong mechanical engineering fundamentals with hands-on CAD expertise and the ability to move quickly from concept to practical, manufacturable designs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop detailed 3D mechanical designs and 2D engineering drawings for robotics and mechatronics systems
• Design mechanical assemblies and components supporting electronics, controls, and robotic technologies
• Support projects from early concept and rapid prototyping through to production-ready designs
• Develop and refine prototype and production tooling
• Perform mechanical stack-up, structural load, and engineering analysis as required
• Produce accurate manufacturing drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
• Collaborate with electrical, controls, robotics, manufacturing, and project engineering teams
• Manage design changes, engineering documentation, and project deliverables throughout the development lifecycle
• Identify opportunities to improve design performance, manufacturability, reliability, and cost

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline
• Strong experience with MCAD software, including 3D modelling and 2D drafting
• Experience designing mechanical assemblies incorporating electronic components
• Understanding of mechanical design principles, tolerances, materials, and manufacturing processes
• Experience with rapid prototyping and prototype tooling
• Exposure to production tooling and production-level mechanical design
• Strong technical problem-solving and analytical capabilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong experience with SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM
• Knowledge of ANSI Y14.5 engineering drawing and GD&T standards
• Experience with electrical enclosures, wiring diagrams, and EPLAN
• Experience performing mechanical tolerance/stack-up analysis
• Understanding of structural load analysis
• Experience working within robotics, automation, or mechatronics environments
• Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, or other Agile engineering/project management tools
• Experience taking mechanical designs from prototype through to production
